Miss Nicola

Owner and Manager

“I am Nicola Tarry and I am the owner and manager and SENCO of Jack in the Box Montessori School. I have a BA (Hons) in French and Art and a Montessori Diploma. I set up the nursery school in 2005 and I am very proud of how it has developed. As a Montessori teacher I love to be in the classroom with the children. I have two grown up daughters and a son who is now at secondary school. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting art galleries and travelling.”

Miss Shalina

Deputy Manager

“Hi my name is Miss Shalina! Starting my journey in the teaching profession was no easy task. My dad wanted me to become an accountant and so I had to do Business Studies. After a few years, I had a heavy heart and still yearned to work with children. I worked hard to achieve my NVQ with my first born in tow. I have many rich memories and experiences across 26 years working with children, seeing countless unique personalities, and I am reminded every day that I am doing what makes me happy. I am positive that there are many more memories to make and many more delightful characters to get to know. My role is the School Deputy and I am here to help!”

Miss Thing Thing

Montessori Teacher/Keyworker

“After obtaining my first degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology, I decided to travel for a year in the USA. During volunteering sessions in a Montessori school in Seattle, I found myself enjoying working with children, who I felt were teaching me more about life and the outside world than the other way around. That is how my journey working with children began. I have been working in Early Years education for over a decade. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights into the varying philosophies and approaches taken in early age childcare and education. As well as having a wealth of practical experience,  I completed my Master’s degree in Early Years Education at IOE, University of London in 2012.”

Miss Yordanos

Nursery Assistant

“I am Yordanos Deres and I was born in Ethiopia. I came to the UK in 2003 with my two children. I started as a volunteer at Jack in the Box and then I completed my level 2 childcare qualification. I have been a nursery assistant here since 2009 and I look forward to many more years working here.”
